I am eating a biscuit that Kanae gave to me. She bought it in the shopping complex where we first had lunch, then later came back to eat strawberries and hunt dwarves. I thought that she was buying them for her mother or her colleagues, but she surprised me at the last, by giving them to me as well as a cherry blossom drink thing that I haven't tried yet. Perhaps I should be drinking that instead of the cup of green tea that I'm sipping. I've been having the strangest sensations today. I've been hearing voices. Not in a creepy way, but more like a psychological playback. It's not as simple as remembering the mere sound. I've heard the timbre change and seen flashes of expressions. First it was Tim [Copsey]. He was being forthright about something, or disagreeing with someone, probably me. Later it was Simon [Jim Turney], it was as if we were drinking and roleplaying. There was the way his accent wanders, the way he holds his fist to his mouth when he's made to laugh unexpectedly and threatens to explode; it was the happy sound of friendship, enjoyment and comfort. Most recent it was the sound of Brendan. His tone was that of when he tells his kids off, interspersed with his laugh and general conversation. Now that I think about it, I think Alex [Dave Page] was being played last night, but that way more of a comfortable silence. The trouble is that, now that I'm thinking about it, everyone is crowding in, Matt, Paul, Lisa, Toby, various Toms, James's and Chris's. I miss people. I miss Kanae. I miss Simon. I miss Brendan and Lol and Alex and, well: I miss the people from Keele and Manchester and Yorkshire and London and Brighton... I even miss my biological family. ;) On the other hand it seems that some of you are so predictable that I carry around copies of you with me. Now shut up and let a body concentrate for a bit. The biscuit itself was mostly savoury with only a hint of sweetness; thin and crisp with a rough edge, but strong. The temptation is to have another, to characterise the taste further, but I had one yesterday and one today... I'll just finish my tea. 487295
